On July 3rd at 8 AM local time in Egypt, under the witness of Egyptian President Sisi, the A and B sections of the Ramadan 10th City Railway in Egypt were opened. Egypt is an ancient civilization and an important country along the "Belt and Road" initiative. The opening of the Ramadan 10th City Railway project will significantly enhance the transportation capacity between the capital of Egypt and various key new cities, playing an important role in the urban development of Cairo, and will also serve as a good demonstration effect in the Middle East, the Arab world, and African countries. Changzhou Selkrite Electric Co., Ltd. provided the core 27.5kV plateau-type overhead line GIS switch equipment for the traction power supply system of this railway, ensuring power supply for the safe and stable operation of high-speed trains.
To ensure the smooth opening of the A and B sections of the Ramadan 10th City Railway in Egypt, the project management team and technical service personnel from Chang Sai Company, including Ma Jinqiao, analyzed the difficulties of travel and overseas work during the pandemic. They successfully developed travel methods and on-site work plans that not only ensured safe arrival at the site but also saved time while meeting various epidemic prevention requirements, ensuring personal safety and on-site work needs, providing valuable experience for overseas services during the pandemic. Based on the completion of pre-commissioning and equipment inspection, and with the seamless support of the professional technical team at the rear and on-site technical personnel, the power receiving work of the GIS switch equipment was successfully completed.
The 27.5kV plateau-type overhead line GIS switch equipment is suitable for direct power supply methods for railways. Chang Sai Company has provided this equipment on multiple lines. On June 25, 2021, it was successfully opened and operated on the world's highest altitude passenger dedicated line from Lhasa to Nyingchi, with stable operation. The Lijiang to Shangri-La passenger dedicated line also uses this equipment. Additionally, this equipment has successfully entered the foreign market. The 27.5kV plateau-type GIS overhead line switch equipment produced by Chang Sai Company used in this Ramadan 10th City Railway project in Egypt has test data that fully meets IEC standard requirements, winning the trust of Egyptian users and accumulating valuable experience for the product's overseas expansion, successfully contributing to the country's "Belt and Road" construction.
